I picked up a Stewart Baldwin RS12, I’ve had my eye on it for a while. Installing DCC is no problem, but I’d like to add sound. I’ve installed quite a few Soundtraxx decoders, but I don’t see anything for a Baldwin. I never heard a real one. is there anything generic, or even close? Any ideas appreciated.
Thanks in advance, Den.
I would go with a Loksound Micro with sound file #72849. Comes with great Baldwin sound and a Wabco horn.

Thanks David, I think Tony’s TXng has Loksound, I’ll definately look into it.
Thanks again, especially for the quick response. Den.
Hello again David.
I just wanted to let you know that I ordered the Loksound decoder, and recieved it yesterday, and installed it today, terrific sound ! I bought the extra rectangular speaker for a better and easier fit, took out the old light board and hard wired the decoder, not too much work. That’s my first Loksound, but it probably won’t be my last, good product, great sound. I didn’t go with the Micro, I went with the standard V3.5, I guess it’s just the 1 amp thing.
Thanks again for the advice,
Den.
Yes, use the LokSound for Baldwin Road Switchers. I use the VO and DS in my yard switchers. You will need the twin .63 or the single .63. The twin can be cut in half and glued separately or back to back in the cab and carbody. My DS gives plenty of sound and I can fully reccomend these. Also Tony’s has these and the speakers. Chris
Hi Chris,
I picked up the .63 x 1.0 - 100 ohm from locksound. I installed it in the nose of the RS 12, plenty of sound, good bass. I modified the sound chamber (reduced the thickness by 4/32") and it’s still got plenty of volume.

I was never able to find it on the LoKsound site, is there a sound file accurate for the Sharks?
