soundtraxx tsunami diesel TSU1000 DC operation

Hope this hasn’t been hashed over before… I am installing the unit into my HO Kato SD70Mac and have most of the wires connected. I was hoping to test the unit on DC prior to finishing it up. Will it run on DC out of the box or does it need to be programmed first? The guide wasn’t clear on that. It did mention CV12 set to 1 for analog operation. But what is it setup for out of the box?

I would suggest joining the Yahoo SoundTraxx group where there is a lot of discussion about the Tsunami diesel.

I use the Tsunami steam decoders which might be different in configuration.

Make sure the DC power pack you use does not have pulse power.
