source for rubber tubing?

I’m looking for rubber tuning to replace the dry rotted tubing drive shafts for a brass electroliner I am restoring, The solid shaft/universal route is really not an option for this beasty, as the owner wants to keep it as original as possible. All the surgical tubing I have found is too soft, and just twists up, or too stiff to allow the trucks to move.

any leads?

If you cannot find it there, PM me, I think I have a few and could probably let go of one…

Edit: I’ve also used RC car/plane fuel line. If near by, check your hobby shop…

Go to your local RC airplane store and check the fuel tubing. I have used this several times.

Or a place that sells parts for chain saws and weed wacker type equipment. They use similar fuel line.

[#ditto] I had already formulated this very answer in my head before I scrolled down and saw yours, loathar. It is what I would do.

Proof positive that great minds think alike![;)]

The Ace Hardware & True Value Hardware stores here in Denver carry rubber & plastic tubing of all shapes, sizes, & densities.

I’ve used laboratory tubing for a number of Model Railroad applications. One popular brand is Tygon and can be found at this website:

Click on the Tygon Tubing link on the left side of their main page. Or you could probably find this stuff on eBay,

The air hose stuff for fish tanks works real well, and it’s cheap. Go to a good pet store, prefferably one that is big into fish, and they’ll have several different diameter hoses to pick from, all for pennies by the foot!

I use the small RC silicone fuel line tubing. It’s perfect for shafts 2mm in diameter and larger. It stays flexible and never rots.
