Southern #1380 streamliner help

I draw profiles of steam streamliners (favorite subject) as a hobby. My drawings are done in Autocad as I am a civil/structural designer by trade. I am trying to find a locomotive diagram or simple drawing of the 1380. I have completed the Pennsy S-1 and the LV Black Diamond. I am currently working on the CP F2a 4-4-4. It is my understanding the Weaver Models produced this locomotive in O at some time. Does anyone have a good profile photo of this model? Anything would be helpfull at the moment as I seem to have run into a brick wall.

Thanks,

fishjay (Lester)

There is a good side profile of the #1380 in the book Southern Railway Steam Trains Vol. 1 - Passenger.

There is an entire section dedicated to the #1380, showing her before and after her streamlined phase, and a lot of photos of the beautiful old gal.

The best side profile photo is on page 72, the top photo.

The photo is from the Curt Tillotson collection.

I will look in my photo archive to see if I have any good profile photos of the #1380. At least, with the running gear, a photo of a Ps-4 pacific will be of some help.

I have a number of really nice pictures that I bought from a top-notch seller on eBay, named east_hamlet_jct, and he has a side profile picture of the Southern Ps-4 that I would recommend that if you like the Ps-4, or the Southern in general, to buy a copy of.

If you ask him, he may be able to share some notes on the profile side of doing such pictures.

I am going to check my photo library now, if I find anything that I feel may help, I will post them.

This is the closest to a profile photo of the Southern #1380 that I have, most are at a sharper angle.

How much are you selling prints for? If you do finish a picture of the #1380, I am VERY interested in obtaining a copy for my “Southern Walls” in my house. There are a few prints from East Hamlet Junction visible, one of which is the Ps-4 print:

Thanks for the photo. My drawings are just line profiles (b & w). I just do these profiles for my own pleasure. I have not sold any. If you contact me off line, I can send the Pennsy S1 to you so you can see my work.

P.S. If someone can tell me how I go about attaching a pdf I will post the drawing in this thread…
