Fantastic job on a very impressive layout! Thanks for the posting!

very well done,

Splendid.

Awesome layout and a well done video. Thanks for sharing.

Nice! Spectacular scenery! I would like to see your track plan.

Reply to James Molloy: The track plan can be seen on the layout website at: http://spcascade.com/

And thanks to all for kind and generous comments.

Beautiful scenery, including nice use of photo backdrops. Brings you right into the layout.

verry nice

WONDERFUL layout with grand scenery and rock formations!!!

What a beautiful, terrific ride through dramatic scenery!

What can you tell us about the camera you used, how you mounted it, and what software you used for editing? Would love to have some info about that.

Reply to J Harry Feldman: The camera is a Sony Handycam HDR CX110. It is mounted on a modified flatcar that holds the back of the camera up about 1 inch from the flatcar deck and the front of the camera about 1/2 inch above the deck. This provides the camera angle above the car tops and down slightly that I wanted for the “hobo cam” effect. Of course, with this mount, the camera will no longer go through tunnels.

Bill – Many thanks for the extra info. Great job of editing as well as getting the raw footage. MR should consider doing an article about taking onboard video.

Some time ago I posted an inquiry for info from users of the ICar by Minuteman Scale Models. (It is for taking video with an iPhone or iPod.) No responses to date.

Thanks, again.
