I got a new Bachmann Spectrum H0 8-40CW at a very attractive price from ebay. The engine exceeds my expectations by far. It runs very smooth and silent with a quality DCC decoder. Only the blue LED needed to be replaced by nice sunny white ones.
Now, the engine has a somewhat strange behavior. The bottom cover of the trucks is lower that of any other engine I have. The trucks bump into some Kadee uncoupler magnets, some turnout switch wires and slips over some places of street running tracks.
I can not state Bachmann’s engine is not within the specifications. It is more obvious I did build somewhat sloppy and this engine is a real test device:-) Funny thing is no other of all my engines shows the same behavior.
Did you also notice that very low mounted bottom truck cover?
