What will you be doing this Spring?
Hopefully, we’ll be building the new layout this spring and summer.
In the process of moving to a new home. A sad sight indeed, to look at 37 large moving cartons filled with trains, track and accessories that won’t see the light of day until a few more months.

It’s always warm here in Tucson, AZ. Been cutting weeds in the yard since December. Now our 7 months of SUMMER have started and we go indoors here. Where you guys in the midwest and east go outside, it’s just the opposite here. Wish it were back to the 80 degree weather of December and January. BTW, the marketers have it all wrong here. They market outdoor stuff here the same as any place else in the U.S. and it just sits on the shelves. I don’t know why they haven’t learned. For a region that gives pool toys and super soakers for Christmas and stays in the A/C during these months, it’s baffling to me.
working outdoors on the yard, home improvements and all that spring/ summer related stuff, However,
when the sky gets cloudy
and it starts to rain
thats the time
to run your trains[:D]
The power company came through and did “trimming” of the trees. More like destroying. Only plus from it, maybe I can get some grass to grow under the trees now this year!
Will start expanding the layout this summer, and help a freind build a new one.
I hate gardening. I hate taking care of the lawn. I’d be happy with astroturf and plastic bushes and flowers. I guess it’s because everything living I touch outside seems to die…no green thumb here…Besides, it takes away from train time…
I spent the day today running the garden railroad. It’s nothing fancy, just a large loop of track…it’s a good way to run trains and be outdoors afterbeing holed up this winter… At least on a seasonal basis, it keeps the main layout from getting stale… Though when the leaves start falling, I’ll be back inside…with O Scale.
I cleaned the car, did a rustprotection job on it (trust me, we need it!), cleaned my tiny attic, work on at our “stable’s” (self made barn for 4 little ponies and a tiny tractor) made a wall between me and the neighbourgarden and now I’m still rebuilding my own garden. Things to do when it rains: build my own layout!

Hi BoBo,
Welcome to the CTT forum.
I am surprised it took you so long to do your first posting.
I am looking forward to seeing some pic of your layout and hearing some tails from when you worked on the RR.

Spring for me means:
Washing the car, painting the house, cleaning out the basement, pruning the hedges, and of course running my trains. More important it means that the winter is over. I am glad the sun came out again.
Here in the east spring has sprung… let’s see workin on the RR or yard work? What would the neighbors think if I let the outside go to pot? I balance my time between work, childrens soccer games, the house and trains. Really love them all, I would not change a thing! As summer heats up we will head to the beach occasionally but we never really ignore the trains for to long.
It’s time to put away the snow blower and fire up the lawn mower. I’m looking forward to the spring and summer train shows .When summer heat showes up we head to the train room, and work on layout.
