Stamping numbers and words on Lionel prewar trains?

Hi,

I heard there is a service which will stamp restored train bodies with the appropriate markings (numbers, letters, and words). This, I understand, is pretty much the most authentic means to duplicate the orginial markings. However, a Google search doesn’t turn up any such company. Would anyone know about this?

You can purchase rubber stamps. You can have trains restored. Maybe one of the outfits that does restorations will accept something for rubber stamping only. But I never heard of anyone offering that service.
