Sad news indeed.

My condolences to his family…

Very sad, we lost a brother here …J.w.

Oh, my. [:(] That’s two major blows on the forum in the past month. [sigh] My heart goes out to Stein’s wife and family at this time.

Tom

My deepest condolences to Stein’s family. When I first came on here and asked dumb questions, he would always take time and answer them patiently and thoroughly. He will be missed.

Wayne… It’s good of you to inform us. This is terrible news. Condolences to Stein’s family.

Truly sad and unexpected (he had just posted yesterday, Sun, Oct 7, 2012). Condolences to his family.

[:(][:(]…too young as well…condolences to his wife and family…

Wayne:

Thanks for letting us know. Very sad news and a great loss to our community.

Please offer our condolences to his wife and family if you have the opportunity.

I am deeply saddened by the news on Stein´s passing. Stein was a helpful and friendly member of this community, yet a demanding and not always patient one. His death means a great loss to us.

My condolences go out to his family.

Darn it, may not have always agreed with Stein, but always valued and respected his opinion.

My deepest sympathy to his family and friends.

Craig, the Bear.

I will miss Stein’s post. He would often show a very subtle sense of humour in his post that was missed by many. He would occasionally lob a PM my way that would have me laughing for the rest of the day. In fact I am smiling as I write this recalling a couple of them.

Rest for now, but not for long. You have just been given a very large room with which you may do as you choose. Save me a Beer.

Good Lord…AGAIN!!! And Stein, of all people?!! We have lost another great authority here, and a friend. Who didn’t look for Stein’s input on questions about yards? Who asked such questions and didn’t get a thoughtful and instructive reply from Stein very shortly?

This is most sad. Rest in peace, and may all your turnouts be lined for a fast shot, Stein.

Oh no. I wake up to learn this terrible news. Let me add my condolences to Stein’s wife and family.

I have never met Stein personally, but I have come to know him through the forum and the PM feature of the forum. Like Batman, I have been the recipient of many Private Messages from Stein. And, like Batman, I cannot help but smile, actually laugh, as I recall them. Besides his model rairoading and layout design expertise, Stein had a great sense of humor and an elegant knack for diplomacy. At least a few of his PM’s were intended to gently chastise me for my own lack of diplomacy in dealing with some of the forum renegades.

And now I find out that he has passed away at the much too young age of 47. My knees feel weak at the moment, I will miss him greatly. Goodbye, my friend.

Smile,

Grin,

Rich

My best wishes to his family and friends. It’s another shocking loss for us here.

May we meet again in the Big Roundhouse in the Sky.

Rest in peace.

Amen

Another shocker to wake up to this morning. My condolences to Stein’s family. Another wonderful person I never met other than via forum, interactions, but Stein was always full of great insights in track planning, and specifically he helped me on my latest endeavour.

Wow! That’s sudden, and so young. I read a post by him just two days ago. My condolences to his family.

Very shocking to say the least that his family and we, his raliroad buddies, have lost Stein.

I will always remember the many hours he spent trying to help others with their track plans.

My condolences to his wife and family.

These two recent losses are ones that we know about and It makes me wonder about those who use to be regular posters who are never heard from.
