[?][?] I need information on the storing of old Lionel Train boxes
In Illinois I use “Public Storage” and rent large space for about $70 a month
I would keep them in a large plastic storage container. One brand that I really like is made by Aero Plastics, they are heavier than most and less expensive.
I would also put in some silica gel to help coltrol the moisture.

seems to me it would be advieable to store them flat, with the flaps detucked and fully extended. They are side seal carton blanks, which began as a flat sheet and then were die cut and then side sealed to form a box. They get erected and the flaps get tucked in assembly. Bringing them back to their original state seems like the best way to preserve them and takes a lot less space.
regarding above, look inside the box to see where the flap extends from a longitudinal side and glues to another long side. This should be flat, as opposed to folded. This was the original state of the carton.
