Storing Decals

What is the best way to store sheets of decals? Is it necessary to separate them with sheets of plain paper, wax paper, etc, to prevent them from sticking together? Thanks. John

Wax paper across the face, seperate ziplock baggie for each sheet, no direct sunlight (no light is better), and cool and dry. I’ve stored decals for decades this way.

If you want to be safe, a coat of dullcoat paint before you soak them for use.

I store the commercial ones like Microscale and Champ in their original envelopes. The ones that are loose sheets, like the RailGraphics, I just store front to back in an envelope. I think as long as you don’t store the printed sides together, they should be fine.

I store mine in their original packs or use empty packs.I also put several decals in one pack with no ill effects.

I have a three-ring binder to store my decals. I place them in their original packages into clear plastic inserts. This way I can look through my extensive collection easily (the album is about 2" thick). I have plastic pages intended to hold photos to put my smaller sets into, four pouches per page side. Also store all of my dry transfers in the same album. It keeps everything flat and vertical.
