Street ironworks...

What? Huh?[%-)]

Not long ago I went across town and there were signs up on a road saying “Caution Raised Ironworks”. Being me I thought “I didn’t know that they had an ironworks to raise…”

It turned out that they had planed the tarmac off (i.e. used one of those dragon-like machines to munch the surface and spit it into trucks)… and left all the sewer covers, drain grids etc standing proud - and ready to take your sump out.

So… what this is all about really… does anyone make US style sewer covers, drain grids, telecommunication pit covers, cable TV pit covers and all the rest?

Do you have speed control humps these days? We have the [censored] things all over the place… but I was taught by a traffic cop how to go over them at high speed [:D][yeah]

If it counts, I’m looking at H0 and the 1980s as usual. TIA [8D]

(PS… it may be bad but I love running a speed bump at speed when some moron, who clearly doesn’t know the road, is tailgating me[:D][:D][:D]).
