Good evening. Trying to track down information on a Streetcar Project layout that MR did back in the nineties I believe. It was either Boston or Philadelphia (again… I think) and it featured PCC cars. Hope I’m not just imagining that this was a project layout.

The only project railroad for streetcar/trolley/interurban that I recall was back in the 70’s. There have been numerous other articles over the years on the subject some of which featured layouts. I suggest using the “Magazine Index” under the Resources tab at the top of this page to search on streetcar or trolley or PCC.

I believe it was by Bruce Goehmann and it started in the Oct 1999 MR.

Greg, it was the Boston MTA trolley layout project series, by Harvey Simon, which ran monthly from October 1999 through March 2000.

Going back further, another good trolley layout project series was Bruce Goehmann’s fictional midwestern O’Dell County Traction, which ran from November 1988 through April 1989.

There was also Walter Olsen’s Brandywine Transit project layout series that was published sporadically between 1975 and 1978.
