I see your scratch building has improved beyond the planning stage!!! Great looking grade all. I need to scratch build one for ladle cleaning & skull cracking. Custom finnishes use to produce an HO scale version of this same type of grade-all.
There hard to find and over price when you do find one. A company called lil-toy also produced a grade-all in the 70’s,you can find them on e-bay from time to time.Granted its much more fun to scratch build things.
I love the build, looks great and keep up the good work!!! Looking forward to see other scratch builds from you.
Looks like a good build there Budliner. What scale are you working in? Good model vehicles are hard to come by specially U.S. prototype. Styrene’s great stuff to build with. I’ve got plans to build these things but so far just plans.
ok now I know you all wan’t to jump right in here with my hill-billy railroad
this is my next project
This massive gas tank sits off Route 93, just south of Boston. Artist Corita Kent was commissioned in 1971 by Boston Gas to paint the tank, and delivered this bright rainbow of colors. Kent, an active Vietnam War protester, is alleged to have shaped the profile of Ho-Chi Minh into one side of the blue stripe. The tank is closed to visitors, so don’t expect to get too close. It’s best viewed from afar anyway. (Globe file photo) Location: Dorchester Public Transportation: Driving on I-93 offers the best view. Cost and Hours: Free, open 24 hours/day
Hi Budliner. Love the Gradeall been around a few myself I took a Walmart Norscott cat crawler backhoe, chopped to boom off installed a three stage mast, and hydralic clyinders. Chopped the back off and is laying in the shop as a hood. The window saftey grill is a stainless steel etched boxcar roofwalk. Still in the process of building the outriggers. The green truck with equipment tire was a forestry brush fire truck, cut the side and back to make a bobtail mechanics truck. There not protype and dont really care as they were a blast to tinker with…John
Absolutely amazing! It’s too bad that you don’t live in the Tampa Bay area. The Suncoast Model Railroader’s Club http://www.suncoastmrrc.com/gallery.htm#ho would sure enjoy having you as a member! Talent, imagination, and creativity are always on the “Wanted” list.
I’ve experimented with styrene, but most of my modeling time is taken up with painting, weathering, or repairs. I am very interested in experimenting with styrene. About 2 years ago, a forum member posted a photo of a modern concrete diesel loco shop with large windows. He made it from styrene and did a great job. To me, it was more impressive than the Walthers kit since it was unique, yet realistic.
