Kurt,

It is an “MTH Cantilevered Signal” (part no 30-11009). This is a really nice unit. The heads unplug so that you can put them facing in the opposite direction. Also has built in circuitry to show a brief yellow aspect once the block is cleared which then changes to green.

I have Lionel signals as well, but I think MTH is putting out better signaling right now. They have more flexibility and seem to be brighter than the Lionel’s at the same voltage, except for the dwarf signals. I really like Lionel’s main line dwarf signals - they are hard to beat.

Luther, that looks good. Got to get me som of those. How are you controling them?

Nice pics all around. My layout is under catenary construction so no pictures of that, but I did take a few of the modular layouts at the Greenberg show in York yesterday. They are N scale but very nice.

Real nice guys operating the layouts. One offered to back up the train and do another run by when my digital did not respond in time.

JOHN, how was the show? Me and my wife went a few years ago and I didn’t think it was that good. Seemed like lots of HO stuff?

Chief,

Thanks!

I have isolated outside rails in each “block” that is tied to a SPDT relay. I used DC relays with a bridge rectifier to convert the AC to DC (everything available at Radio Shack) - but you could also use some of the AC relays that are out there - Scott’s Odds - n Ends have some I believe.

I am running the trigger circuits (to the isolated rails) as well as the signals off the 12 volt tap of a K-Line Power Chief Transformer. I run them at 12V to help extend the bulb life.

The grandkids really like trains. They’ll go to the bookcase and get CTT mags and we’ll look at the mags together.

Chief, Fantastic progress!

Bird, what scale are those cars? I’m looking for 1/64’s 30’s - early '50s cars.

Great pics all. I really enjoy seeing everyone’s pictures.

Jim

Jim,

The cars are 1/43 and were purchased through “Diecast Direct”. They have a website and you can sort by scale.

Laz, It was OK. Actually O, HO & N were about equal with some G & slot cars. Also a few toys. A friend and I go since he is into HO we both enjoy it. Of course the breakfast with scrapple at the RTCD is a +. I bought a couple of books, some tools and one RGS car.

Great pics again everyone! Spankybird Where did you find the 1886 Benz? I’ve seen one in HO but not in larger scales.

IT is 1/43 scale made by IXO. You can pick it up from www.diecastdriect.com for about $25.00

Thanks Spanky!!!

JELECTRIC, I’m thinking of getting those F3s that you sent me from JIMs Trains. And was thinking of getting the premire streamliner 5 pack. Will they complement the Railking F3s?

laz57

Very nice pic’s everyone![:)]

Working on landscaping in the city corner:

I love the effect of the freight door lights mixed with the backlit flat. Very nicely done, Frank. Do you have any heat-buildup issues with the flat? They don’t look like LEDs.

thanks. No evidence of any heat build up, the bulbs are so small. HOwever, if I smell something burning, I’ll know otherwise.

Great pictures again everyone & I must say I stole Frank’s idea for using those HO lights, the ones on his buildings, for one of mine so far !! I have one on my Atlas switch tower !!

Thanks, John

John,
I stopped by my LHS last week to pic up some engines I was having work done to… they had a MTH catenary kit instock and forgot to tell you earlier.

Nice guys there! They don’t have online ordering, but if you give them a call I’m sure they would ship it if you need it still!

Looked really nice… thought of picking it up for when I have my large layout built, but I passed on it… not sure if I will have the room for a catenary system with everything else.

BTW - Wife and I were at the York show on Sunday. I saw a dealer from Greensberg PA that I used to do some business with back at the Pittsburgh shows… picked up a Road Crew from him! I didn’t see the lighted automobiles guy there, so maybe next time! [:(]
