Finally some layout pics…
I bought a truck of my own. It is a 1977 Dodge Adventerer(which would be renamed the Ram), with a 318ci V8 for $750. It may look a little bit scrappy, but it only has 40000 miles on it amazingly!!(atleast that is what the current title says)But, it is so rusty beacause Tom, the guy that I bought it from, kept it in his barn for 7 years. But now it fires right up, and is very powerful! [:D] (what you would expect out of a Mopar!!)
Im repainting and repairing the body right now.
Wow, that PU brings back memories! Reminds me of the 81 Ram I had, except nicer. Mine had the slant six (second nicest engine Mopar made, right behind the 318, IMHO), and the body was far rustier, but it was Reliable. Paid $600 for it, and sold it to a guy for $490. I didn’t have an ad in the paper or a for sale sign it or anything. We agreed on $500, but it was so low on gas, I gave him back $10 so he’d have enough gas to get it home.
The first thing I would do if that truck was mine would be to add “AC” , a rear sliding window. [:)]

Got over to the Lone Star 3-Railers club layout last week.
Here is the first priority to prepare for the weekend…
Of course we need to acknowledge our nations farmers that make priority loads possible!
My Lionmaster UP Challenger with Railking Madison cars highballing down the mainline…
And then up on the high line…
Pat’s Lionel California Zepher on the high line…
Finishing up with another priority load to make sure we make it through the weekend!
Regards,
Roy

Well, it’s not as pretty as the stuff above, but here are some pictures of what the inside of a ZW looks like after 40+ years of use.
This one has been cleaned, rewired, new rollers, and I replaced the broken handle. It now powers my layout.
speaking of layouts, here is my “old train room” and my old layout after mostly being disassembled.
hopefully I will be able to post pictures tonight or next Sunday of what it looks like now. I’ve put new track lighting, new paint and this afternoon I put up this border around the top
and finally, on my way home the other day I saw this neat trestle, so I thought I’d share…
Question?-WHAT’S BETTER THAN AN UNSHROUDED J
Answer:Two unshrouded J’s in lash-up
In a layout as small as mine it is hard to get two J’s in the same picture.

How’s this for fun -
Great weather in Chicago today - 80 degrees - sunny - Go White Sox!
Jerry,
Mopar stands for Made Of Plastic And Rubber or is an ebonics word for “More Parts”

Here are a couple more photos of train related things…the first is the mill in downtown Roanoke. The mountain in the background is “Mill Mountain” and you can see the giant star on top. The mill is served by the Norfolk Southern line.
the second is another cool bridge going accross the road…
and the next is my train room with the walls painted and the boarder up
the mountain is all I’m saving from my old layout.
and finally, I couldn’t decide what lighting would be best in the room…so I added all of it, flourescent, halogen, and incandescent…
WOW. Would do some photos but the three Lioenl diesels I “resmoked” filled
the room with so much smoke, the camera could not get a clear picture. [;)][:-^][:-^]

Spanky,
You should fill the smoke units with Hickory flavor and hang a ham or a brisket in that room!
So you want to smoke a ham[:-,]
From the left is a Williams Berk with a TAS turbosmoke unit, Lionmaster Challenger, Lionmaster Class-A and a K-Line semi-scale Hudson
Oh Boy!! We’re really smokin’ em’ in Ohio! [:D] Puts a whole new meaning to to the phrase " give me some smoke"! We got one switchman at work that tells the engineer , give me some smoke , when their switching. All great pictures. Thanks, John
Wow! ZW Bob is challenging Spanky to a smoke contest! Great pic ZW Bob!
Bob, great pics. We will have to get our engines side by side and show Chief how the buckeye boys do steam.
I believe these are some of my classic smoke scenes

Hi guys, neat pics!! and a lot of smoke!! Jerry, I love your new car; in Holland something like that would set you back for about 10x as much as you paid for it, and after that you would have to pay 200 dollars a month on road tax… and 1.70dollar a litre of petrol.[8D]
