Me when I was a young boy.

Here’s a monster crane at 28 inches high, probably too high even for standard gauge! Has a clamshell bucket & several motors. Only says made in Japan in it.
Having fun in the garden!
Trolley pulling into town for a Saturday night party
Last trolley of the night
UP not stopping tonight
Stay cool, another oven like today, better temps tomorrow.

Mornin’ All, Our weather has been ***** as well and supposed to get even hotter, but the humidity is supposed to go down. Don’t know know if that is really a good or bad thing, when it gets hot and dry it seems to wake up the kooks who play with fire.
On to a more pleasant note:
You just never know who you might run into on a station platform these days.
Multi-generational operation by B&O.
It was a busy day on the Hi-Lines.
Jerry, “When you were a young boy”, you are no longer a “boy” but you are young man compared to us old codgers on here. [(-D] [:-^]
Hi, I have never posted on this thread before so I thought that I would try one since I now have a new engine.

Since the baby only turned 4 weeks old today, I haven’t had a ton of time to do much, though I do get a chance to do some detailing work.
A few months ago, I picked up this pair of Lionel SD-50s on eBay, both from 1995. In one decade, the level of detail in the industry has gone through the roof, so these needed some work.
Using some Microscale decals, some paint, and some chalks, I took a crack at detailing and weathering one of them. The white paint on the grab irons makes a big difference, as does the orange snowplow.
I recently picked up my first Rail King box car while on a business trip on the East Coast. When I got it home I realized that it didn’t have much in the way of realistic detail (to say nothing of scale sizing).
I actually tried to unload it on eBay, but found no takers. Feeling guilty, I decided that it deserved a little TLC. A little silver paint on the roof and some yellow chalk to dull the paint made it look better. Some darker chalks added a layer of grime.
Its still not the right size, but now we have a relationship…
That Railbox looks just like the ones I just passed in North Ave. yard - there’s also a Southern boxcar - with the logos Serves the South - gives a green light to Innovation.
Great photos guys. Tgovebaker, you did a good job on all the items. I’ve done some of the “redoing” and etc. Works great. Ironhorse, now you are on the right track. [:)] Got that NS SD80.
