I like the trestle and coal mine. How did you get the rocky look, is that paint?

My rocks are a combination of spakle over screen and molded Hydrocal rocks washed with a dilute sand colored latex and then dry brushed with other colors, finished with a dilute india ink spray.
After see Roger pic, I don’t know if mine are worth showing, here they are anyway.
This week we brought back old memories from our early teenage years. These are the missile action cars from Lionel. Boy did I have fun shooting the missiles at the exploding box car.
And then of course, there was the Mercury Capsule Rocket car.

THE CREEK CHUB BAIT COMPANY CAR
There really was a Creek Chub Bait Company in Garrett, Indiana. Several of their lures are now collectors items. As a kid growing up near Garrett, the C.C.B.C. would often give out fishing lures at Boy Scout Camporees. I caught my biggest bass on one of their lures.

Thanks for the compliment Tom. Glad the computer problem wasn’t terminal. If it weren’t for you I wouldn’t know how to post the the photos. If I keep this up I’ll have to get an inexpensive (no such thing as cheap) digital, developing 35 mm onto disc gets expensive.
Remember, this hobby isn’t a competition, we all have our own aims, mine is semi-high rail, I like building, and your appears traditional. Wish I had the space to justify collecting a bunch of those operating cars.

Jerry, looks pretty bad. I have mine from 1953 which was an add on Chirstmas present for the train I got on Christmas 1952. Have not tried mine lately but did still work great. Sitting in the box waiting for me to build the real layout. Good luck with that one. If you can not revive, send it to Buckeye to use for a bass lure. ::
I just bought it at a rummage sale for $1. Im using it as a parts stockyard.
You never know what you’ll find at a rummage sale. I found a kitchen aid mixer at a rummage sale. The big one with the 275 motor for 20 bucks. The cord was chopped off and it was dirty. It got a new cord and a good cleaning and saved me at least 230 dollars. Makes bread like a champ.
I know, its not train related but it is a cool gizmo.
Yes they are NYcentralPA. Wife has one [partly because Martha has one]. [:D]
