Is anyone going to Supertrain in Calgary next month? Is it a good show? I am thinking of taking the jaunt over or through the Rockies to have a look. More to get away for a couple of days, but also to check things out. Any thoughts or comments on the show appreciated.[C):-)]
No, it looks interesting but I will stick with Trains 2011 in Burnaby this month on the 20th. I am wondering if the Interior Region of the NMRA will be having their Easter Weekend show this year. I went to last years in Salmon Arm and thought it was pretty good. Have been to the ones in Vernon over the years but have not seen any advertising for this years yet.
Supertrain is the Largest model train show in Canada. It features 4 indoor soccerfields full of layouts and vendors. It feels spacious because of the 30 foot celings. It also features a mezzanine level where there are clinics and other neat features like a ride on train.
Personally, I will be involved with the largest layout, Calgary Freemo. We take up nearly 1/3 of a field.
Dont forget to visit the Bar (for the wobbily pops) and the cafe.
Anyways, it is a show that needs to be taken in over 2 days.
I might be going with a friend of mine who is a vendor. He went last year and said it was the biggest show he has ever seen. Hobbyworx is his company’s name. If I go I’ll have to work for him for a bit. It all depends if I can get the time off from my REAL job, lol.
