Hey, my TCA membership packet arrived today. Looks like I’m joining a well run organization!
I’ll be sending in my York registration tomorrow. (Sept 11 is pre-reg deadline). Look forward to seeing some of you there. Maybe I can even drag my spouse along (I’m sure she would really enjoy spending a day or two looking at and talking about trains)[:-^] Oh well, I’ve been to the ballet, though not lately.
Hopefully mine comes soon. I know I beat you to the mailbox because I was monitoring your post about getting signatures…I bet they are overwhelmed with paperwork there.
Thanks Don; will look you up. Perhaps talk a little PreWar… learn a bit more about the stuff from my Dad’s collection. No match for your lovely collection which I saw on the box coupler post.
It is more than a group of 30,000 members, it’s a friendship between people, rich and poor, who have a common hobby, Toy Trains of all ages, to collect or run. Yes, we have had as members the rich or famous, Frank Sinatra, Neil Young (entertainers), Pres. Ronald Reagan, Navy Sec.Graham Claytor, Ward Kimball (Disney) and so on. As for your “duty” as a member, it’s to be honest in your dealings with fellow members, at shows, on E-Bay, or personal, that is the reason for a years probation after joining.
14,000 members, 8 halls at the Fair Grounds, never a raised voice, never an argument, where else but York.
Thank you but am still at a loss as to how i can join up I have been a model railroader since my first train when i was 6 I am now 46.

Click on “how to join” Download the application, get two TCA Members to sponsor you. I found them here on this forum. One local gentleman and one not so local. I sent my form to one to have it signed, and I had a nice visit with my local sponsor who has a wonderful layout. I also got a new friend out of the deal.
Got mine about a month ago. I signed up at the Toy Train Museum in Strasburg and 2 sponsers signed right there in the museum. Got my first news letter and read it cover to cover on the first bathroom visit.
I also got mine about a month ago. I went to one of the toy train shops I frequent with the application. The owner sign it, and grabbed the first member that came through the door for the second signature. I haven’t received a new letter yet though.
