Thanks to the moderators, incoming and outgoing

I offer my thanks to Dan and Jeff for offering to do this service, and to Mr. Stourbridge Lion for his service.

Good on ya, fellas.

Crandell

Two toots of the whistle for each of them. It’s very much appreciated. These forums are really good, and extremely civilized, thanks to our mods.

Thanks to Dan and Jeff for having the courage to take on the responsibility for maintaining order and decorum for this gathering of gentlemen. [;)] [:)]

Joe

Yes, thank you Dan and Jeffrey for taking on the responsability of moderator. Best of luck to you both. Thank you Mr. Lion for all your hard work. It is much appreciated.

Philip

Congrats to the both of you for taking the roles!![bow][bow]

Dan and Jeff Congratulations and good luck!

Mr.Lion…Many thanks for a job well done!

To all past and present moderators.

You guys did a great job in cleaning up this forum.

Well done! Well done!

I will add my note of congratulations and gratitude to past, current and future moderators.

I saw Steven Otte’s announcement, but he locked the thread so there was no opportunity to comment.

It would be interesting to learn more about the moderator’s duties.

What all are they expected or required to do, and what type of support are they given to perform their task?

Rich

Gidday, I would like to add my thanks to Darren, Stourbridge Lion, and hope you will still occasionally have the time to post photos of your D&H roster and videos in the same vein as the “Goosefest Series”.

Thanks and Cheers, the Bear.

Thank You Darren for a job well done.

Thank You to Jeffrey and Dan for taking on this role.

John

Can’t say I know Dan or his posts but Jeff is here it seems every second of the day so that is a good thing. Maybe, lol. Good luck to both of you.[B]

Thanks to LION for a great job and to Dan and Jeff for volunteering.

Rich, unless things have changed substantially, the mods are given a list of forum rules and some guidelines for doing their work, and are expected to know them well. Secondly, they are given limited Administrator status on the forum. They can see a hidden admin forum where the reports of abuse are posted for action, and where they can post to each other to confer on a way ahead for unusual events or issues needing some discussion between them. They have tools, as well, such as editing and deleting posts entirely, and not just their own.

Crandell

I may not frequently post here…but I do read up on things. It helps being able to do that from my smartphone…but that’s another story! I’m into HO scale and learning about N currently - more modern era (1980 and up) than “older stuff”…but it takes all kinds, right? Any questions - feel free to ask.

Thanks for the votes of confidence. I’ll try to help out as best as I can.

All right, Dan, I have a question for you.

Your screen name tells me that you are a CNW guy, but your avatar shows a CN diesel.

What’s up with that? [%-)]

Rich

My thanks to Stourbridge Lion for his service and to Dan and Jeff for taking on the task.

This has been my favorite forum for many years. Thanks to the moderators for helping to make it so.

Paul

That’s just an illusion. Frequently I have trouble sleeping so there’s no telling when I’ll be online.

You pretty much nailed it. It’s still the same. Much of what I do is approve posts and move post to what seems to be the correct area.

Crandell, thanks for that info, very helpful.

Rich

Thanks [B] to Stourbridge Lion for being a moderator and the welcoming committee. Condolences Best of luck to Dan and Jeff for accepting this “new hat”.

I have to say thanks to the past user moderators and good luck to the new ones. This place was the wild wild west on the weekends a few years ago. It’s much more civil now.

Just wanted to stop by tonight and say THANK YOU for all the well wishes and I too to thank those before and after for taking on the most often thankless job of being a Moderator. After being a RR Forum moderator (here and else where) for over 10 years I felt I needed a break plus since I was not being here as often as a moderator should be it was best to step down.

When I get closer to truly building my first major layout you will likely see me here more asking all sorts of questions…
