What do you think is the best train sim? MSTS? Trainz 2004? I want to get one, but don’t know which one to get.
MSTS Train Simulator is the best
MSTS and TRS are both good, but MSTS is a little better.
Alrighty then, I guess I’ll get MSTS. Ddoes anybody know where you can buy MSTS online, in Canada (I can’t find it in any local stores)? I’ve looked at amazon.ca, walmart.ca, zellers.ca, radioshack.ca and they don’t have it in stock.
Amazon.com should have it, otherwise look to the simulator’s site.
The msts is a good thing.
Because RailDriver.com is in control. http://www.raildriver.com/index.php
the trainz thing is here. http://www.strategyfirst.ca/downloads/demos/UTC_Demo_405.zip . ok, scan it, it’s virus free.
You can also get a really inexpensive one from the main page over at:
www.vnerr.com Scroll down and look on the left side of the page, and you’ll see a link for it. Don’t be concerned about the posted $19.95 price, I got one from the link for something like $11.00 [:D]

I like msts (microsoft train simulator) they have the best all around i give them 100%
best. you may can try www.ebay.com they have some good deals.[8D]
You can still get a copy of MSTS through www.amazon.com. It is about $15. Comes quick (got a backup copy from them since I misplaced my originals during a move).
I have heard that MSTS II is coming out. So I would wait to see what that has to offer. However, in my opinion Auran’s Trainz 2004 is better. Just because of the amount of stuff for it. With Auran’s Trainz you will have to have a powerfull computer.
No, MSTS 2 was cancelled a year ago. There won’t be a sequel from Microsoft or Kuju.
There are another two in development: TrainMaster Train Simulator

and Train Artisan Train Simulator

Oh well Trainz is better anyway.
MSTS is out on budget label: rebadged Atari Train Simulator: I’ve seen posts of people buying it retail at around USD$9: I’ve seen the original in Microsoft packaging at £10 over here, so go and buy it if you see it.
It’ll run on lower spec PC’s and will give you a good driving experience: there’s also lots of free downloadable addons for it, as well as loads of excellent payware routes and stock (although I would say that!)
See:

for just two examples for free downloadable equipment and routes.

It all depend on what you want to do. Do you want to run Opps I mean opperate trains or do you want to build layouts and such? MSTS lets you run trains TRS2004 lets you do both. MSTS has lower requirements so if that a facter MSTS is the way to go. I’m running Trainz and my PC has some trouble in some areas but generaly it’s runs well.
Specs:
AMD thlon XP 2900 Barton Core 400FSB
ABIT KV7-V
ATI Radeon 9550 256mb
Ultra 1gb DDR 400 RAM
And for those with a keen interest in German locomotives check out Loksim 3D.You cannot do operations, but you must drive like a real engineerwould do i.e. responding to signals, handling of the engine itself etc.If you forget to close the doors, you will not get your train in motion.Just the simulator used to train engineers, very realistic. You can download it for free at www.Loksim3D.de Cheers,Railmanbart
