The Chopper II

Seems like a very useful tool. The article left me with a few questions. Does this tool only cut styrene??? Does it leave a burr on the cut piece??? How many cuts can the chopper make before it gets dull, and can I sharpen it or do I need to buy a new blade??? I would like to know a little more about the chopper before I fork over $40.

You can wood also with this tool. I have used this version and the older Chopper for years, I have found the newer Chopper II is better because of the replacable mat. They both use single edge razor blades as the cutting edge and they are replacable by removing two screws on the handle when they get dull. Blades are available at most hardware stores. This is a great tool well worth the $$$.It doesn’t leave a burr but the thin blade can sometimes deflect a little when cutting thick material. I also use the NSWL True Sander to clean up the ends on the thick pieces.
