The Flat Wheel Diner and Cafe, January 2010 Edition

Was wondering the same question…

Getting time to start playing on I-81 today, headed for Rhode Island with stuff to make some rugs. Nice thing is, it’s a light load, will not have to drop a gear at all on the hills, will actually be able to hang out in the left lane going uphill, which is nice (I think I-81 is the busiest Interstate in the east, It really needs to be widened, but Virginia is broke, of course.)

Quick trucker’s breakfast (hold the coffee, I don’t drink any), then off to the races…

The coffee is about finished brewing and I’ve mixed a fresh batch of orange juice. For breakfast this morning we have eggs cooked anyway you might like them, oatmeal, buttermilk pancakes with hot, maple syrup, bacon and pork sausage links. We also have bear claws and donuts. [C=:-)]

We have 16.5 degrees F. here in Sioux Falls this morning. In a couple hours I will be going out to help stuff W-2 forms into envelopes for my sister-in-law who owns an employment agency.

I am now retired, primarily due to some medical issues I have, and I am contemplating going out to Gillette, Wyoming to spend nearly a full month with one of my sisters in early February. Should be fun!

ooo ooo ooOOOOOo

Good Saturday morning, everyone. Ray, thanks for taking care of breakfast this morning: everythings looks so good. Hope you enjoy your retirement!

Well, the funace guys did not make it out yesterday. By 12:30, I called, and it took the guy a few minutes to remember who I was. Then, he apologized, saying he “forgot to call and let us know they were having troubles at another location, where they had been working, and wouldn’t be able to make it to our house.” Supposedly, they will be here “first thing Monday morning”.

I was so ticked, I couldn’t see straight. So was Walt and Sarah. Here we were waiting for them, and they forget to call us. [banghead] Oh well, life goes on.

Everyone enjoy your Saturday, keep safe, warm and take care.

Morning Ray, CW.

CW, I feel for you. I’m not trying to put my mom down here, but we had a plumber come out last week to fix this sewer smell we have. They said they got it fixed, and my mom paid the guy. Only to find out later that we overpaid them by $100! She called them, and they refused to repay the money.

Yes, it was Mom’s fault, but for them to deny us the $$$… We were ticked too.

Ray, thanks for the pancakes and eggs sounds good!!!

We are looking at adopting a MinPin, the lady we want to adopt from won’t send back e-mails. I hope she does!

Have a safe day!

Justin

PS: switch123… [#welcome] to the forum, and the Flat Wheel Diner, and Cafe!

Quentin; you guessed the secret. Some things are hard to let go of . Super cb 2 way communicater didn’t go with Rattler, as it is set up in the ( service alley) my garage. ~~~~However the green lite on the tip of the tenna doesn’t lite up any more.LOL

Cannonball

Justin, what is a MinPin??

The house that I live in was built originally somewhere between 1890, and 1910, and one of the problems that I have with owning it is that roughly every six months I have to bring Roto Rooter or Drain Master in here and have my main sewer line cleaned out. Two weeks ago it started backing up over the drain in the basement floor while I was in the shower, and being unemployed, I called my brother-in-law and let him handle it for me. Fortunately, I did not have water all over the floor.

My brother-in-law is a plumbing & heating contractor and he installed a new furnace and a central air conditioning system for me about 8 years ago. He would have been glad to have taken on a project for Mutt and CW had he been living in Louisville.

ooo ooo ooOOOOOo

I’m not Justin, but the answer is a Miniature Pinscher.

…The green light, that sounds neat Cannonball…I’m thinking perhaps just when the mike button was in use…

[C):-)] Hi everyone,

Welcome to the Flat Wheel Cafe/Diner to switch123, and krump [#welcome]! We always love to get new people in here. Hope to see you in here often.

Switch123, the cat has been busy elsewhere, probably with grandson? Hopefully, she’ll be back in here one of these days.

Here’s our Saturday Night Pizza Fest menu for tonight:

1. Canadian bacon

2. Cheese w/extra cheese

3. Goetta

4. Hawaiian

5. Pepperoni/mushroom

6. Supreme

7. Italian sausage

8. Italiaian sausage calzones

Walt (Mutt) and I have been busy in this kitchen all afternoon: I was making up the pizzas for tonight, and he was busy making a very large batch of his spaghetti casserole for tomorrow (now you all know what will be on the serving station tomorrow for Sunday Dinner)!

We topped out temp wise today in the mid to upper 50s. But we have some rain showers coming in sometime after midnight, and will continue through at least the morning hours. May clear up and see some sunshine tomor

Evening all.

Thanks for the pizzas. I will take one while I watch the game.

Ray, A Min Pin Is like the dog Larry posted!

Have a safe evening.

Justin

Gotta get ready for the train show in Utica and hit the road.

I see the hedge trimmers were in overnight. There’ll be a few folks miffed over that.

One bearclaw and tea, please. For the road!.

Morning CW, Morning Larry

Last night was awful weather wise! The fog was so thick I couldn’t see the phone poles beside the road. It was really terrible.

Larry, safe travels to the train show!

I’ll have a donut and some coffee w/cream.

Have a good day!’

Justin

good morning very foggy out this morning as well.Matt has come down with a cold and is going to stay home and rest.he doesn’t have school tomorrow either.going to see if we have a visitor come by on q 90.Cw will take a plate for work tonight please. stay safe Joe

Good Sunday morning, everyone. Joe, I hope Matt feels better. Colds seem to be the norm: I have one, Walt has/had one, and Uba (female cat) had one; now, Trapper (male cat) is sneezing quite a bit. I think Sarah and Win (the dog) are the only ones in the house who haven’t had a cold.

Coffee, juices, and hot beverages are all ready to go. And on the serving station this morning: hot cinnamon rolls fresh from the oven, and hot blueberry, strawberry and bran muffins.

Everyone have a very good morning, stay warm, keep safe and take care.

Quentin; yep you got that right. It was just a gimmick, although it let others know you were (singing) sending. HEH HEH 10-4 good buddies and all that other ratchet jaw stuff ~~~ LOL

75mm. Cannonball

Good afternoon, all. I see Ms. Mook started a new post! It’s good to see her back.

Walt’s spaghetti casserole w/garden salad and Italian bread is now on the serving station. There’s also some tea (hot, cold, sweet and unsweet), coffee, and whatever soft drink you might want, in the cooler. (How do you all like that antique soft drink cooler chest?)

I think I’m going to try to take a little walk. It’s been so long, my feet will probably start protesting immediately.

I think cold pizza would be a great breakfast.

Good Monday morning, all. Gee, no one was in here yesterday afernoon and last night?!?! Well, I’ve gotten everything cleaned up and thrown away on the serving station. Now, it’s loaded with breakfast menu items. And the morning drinks as well: coffee, juices, hot chocolate, hot cider and hot water for tea.

We starting this morning off with 30 degrees, and some fog. Supposed to get to 50 degrees for a high today.

Hopefully, the heating/cooling crew will be here this morning. I’ve got your lunch/supper in Crock Pots/Slow Cookers: Spaghetti & meatballs in a couple of them, and pork chop abracadbra in the other two.

Everyone enjoy your breakfast, your morning, stay warm, keep safe and take care.
