[:)] I was wondering iof there has been any update on the restoration efforts being done on the Flying Yankee passenger train? Just read and saw pictures of the Mark Twain Zepher has been moved , There may be hope that the Texas Zepher might be next CNW Forever Larry

The restoration of the Flying Yankee is a joint effort of “The Flying Yankee Restoration Group” and the “State of New Hampshire DOT”. Target for it to re-enter service as a Tourist Train is 2010. It is being restored in the shops of the “HOBO Railroad” and can be viewed by the public. The group maintaines a WEB Page at www.flyingyankee.com

Very cool. Looks like they are making good progress.

My very earliest memory of anything at all was seeing the Flying Yankee sitting behind a split rail fence from the window of an Edaville coach in 1958. I was 2 - 1/2!

(the bug had bitten!)

Seams like they have been working on it for a long time, but then again it is a major project.

Once its back up and operating I sure hope they dont forget to come visit us westerners…
