On a few photos of New Jersey Transit Engines, the ponit where the slide was taken, is called “The Meadowlands”. What are the Meadowlands? Is it a NJT maintenance facility?
thanks, Michael

The Meadowlands is a very large piece of “real estate” in NJ just accross the river (Hudson) from Manhattan and is primarily swamp/bog land that has historically been of little value to developers untilt perhaps the 1960’s when guys like Donald Trump’s father and others made good use of the land for such things as the Meadowlands arena for sporting events, etc. I do believe there is at least one rail yard located there for NJT and perhaps others as well.
The Northeast Corridor goes across the Meadowlands, I’ve heard. There are some neat photo ops there, especially with the Manhattan buildings in the background.
The Meadowlands is in New jersey and is where the New York Giants, New York Jets and New Jersey Devils and Nets play. The biggest problem is there is no transit system access to the area. This is the biggest compliant of the fans for the teams.
They also have an awsome RaceTrack in the Meadowlands, called “The Meadowlands.”
Harness racing most of the year with Thoroughbreds about 3 months out of the year I believe.
