I’m ba-ack! I’m still trying to figure out what’s what on the new format. The last few years I’ve been getting more and more paranoid about doing anything online, so I set it up to delete cookies and browsing history every time I closed the browser. This meant I had to sign in every time I accessed email, forums, or anything else. Unfortunately, I got locked out of the forums a couple of months ago, and I could read the forums but couldn’t sign in to make any entries, and I watched the participation dwindle down to less than one entry a day. I hope everybody comes back.
We all got locked out it seems but we are back
Not everyone was locked out, though sure missed the members who were.
Still trying to find my way around…like changing the password as sayas is required! My email got to this point, but am lost where I’ll find “change password…”
Hooray!
It actually feels pretty snappy and all of my old posts are still around.
Well done!
It is going to take some time to figure out the ‘new digs’ and how things are organized and operate.
UI looks more feature rich/complex.
Can we post images and are they retained in the forum software?

Hopefully this will work. I was missing for quite awhile. Figured it was my lack of technology ability.

All sorts of tiny new features that stay small no matter how large the browser window gets. Try out the ‘Dracula’ color scheme in Settings.
Has anyone figured out this cockamamie post and thread ordering system? If there is an option to display ‘last post first’ or a control that lets us skip to ‘first unread post’, I’ve been unable to figure out where it might be.
At least it’s up, and the old posts appear to have been saved.
TrainzLuvr: The forum does seem to be pretty snappy, not taking the usual 30 to 60 seconds to come up. It doesn’t look like the posts made between August 24th to this morning are showing up. That may have something to do with the way the forums only allowed people who were logged in at the end of August were able to post - may have been the way to get all of the old posts transferred to the new forum.
Wonder of wonders - Spelczhek is back!!!
Yeah, it locked users out in August if you didn’t have an active login cookie in your browser.
I’m rather shocked it required an entirely new piece of software and 90 days to fix. At least they preserved the old messages.
Looks like they’re getting avatars from gravatar.com and deleted the old ones.
That might not be what you want.
Two nice things I’m finding and one grumble so far with the new Forums. One I was actually able to use my Google login rather than having to change password. Second nice thing I can login and post from a device I have for work. (Couldn’t do that on the old page.)
The grumble is I haven’t figured out how to put a signature line in like the old forums. I haven’t tried to upload an avatar yet as I have to find the file again. (I think I know where it is.)
I think signatures may be a thing of the past. I have not figured out how to quote a specific post within a thread that I intend to respond to.
I’ll get the signatures back - just need to install a plugin for them - it’s on my list!

IMS to quote someone involves HTML codes.
at the beginning and
at the end at least on the old forums.
Edit: Found accidentally. Select the text in question and tap it. It will give you the option to quote.
@Nick thank you.
And maybe see about removing the 20 character minimum as well? Sometimes posts don’t need to be that long.
I just discovered that you can highlight the text in a reply > click ‘Quote’ > and it will automatically bring that text into your reply
This is done! Reduced it down to 2 characters
@Nick I think the new Forums are going to have a learning curve for everyone.
Given people will quote previous posts, is there a way to “pin” that particular piece of info where everyone can see it no matter what part of the Forums they’re on and not just this thread?
