The gangs here Y’all!!

Is that Chief and Pam in the center of the photo?
Bonnie and Clyde caught in Columbus, OH. Something about being in a house in neighborhood in a town next to Columbus [Gahanna]. A garden RR running off of the deck near where a walnut tree fell. Think the guy was letting them hold up there. Anyone know anyone that fits that description around here? [?][:-^] Just goes to show, some folks you think are nice but then… [;)] As my Dad use to say, “Kid, don’t trust a guy that does not like sweet ice tea and grits.” GOOOOOOD NIGHT! God bless. [:D]
Dear General Tom,
Well we did it again! Yes, we caught us another one of those rascal sutherners trying to sneak through Buckeye Country on their way to Cleveland to make big money… Of course when they ordered sweet tea and grits at the local Chinese-Mexican-Russian-Indian-Polish Restaurant, they were spotted real fast.
Will us boys in Central Buckeye Land get a promotion for this daring capture? Again, we protected Cleveland from the wily ways of the south. Just think, if we weren’t so alert, all of Mississippi and part of Arkansas would be fighting to be a Cleveland Browns fan. (I have no idea why they love the Browns, but it may have something to do with the dog bones.)
Sincerely,
Captain Buckeye
Roger’s Corners, Ohio — Elevation 936 FT
where the temp is 75 deg at 6:00am and heading back to 90. Cool front is coming thru later with showers and temps in the 80’s.
Buckeye – Great job. We have put in a recommendation for your field promotion. As for the Browns, that’s a tuff one. I had tickets for this past Saturday open practice and gave them away.
Chris – good to see you stop by and that you are working hard.
Skyray – good to see you also.
Pick of the Day
all be safe

Is there as much fan support for the new Browns as there was for the original team?
Jim
yep, believe it or not. they sell out the statuim of 72,000 plus for the games.
morning
i will not be talking in the forums a lot today. Have to leave early to go to Train Enthuaists Night at The Morris Arboreuteum, at about 3:15, so i will talk in as many topics as I can for a while. My wakeup call was not the greatest, my dog pounced on my stomach unexpectedly
Bonnie and Clyde have been determined as Yank spies. They stired up stuff in Tenny and ran nawth. Their own kind gave them up. Jest like a bunch of Yanks. [;)] Morning gang. Off to do some work at the pond spillway. Got more rain yesterday and glad I did not do it yesterday. Ran trains instead and then went to “Miss Edna’”. All have a good one and God bless.
Hello all!
Been busy here obviously. I have been busy and I have a business trip starting Monday that will take me to Denver for over a week (meetings and trade show). Argh!
Weather here has been extremely unusual for N Texas. Mid to low 90’s (one day did not get above 89!) and we got about 1.5" of rain day before yesterday.
Good to see some old friends and some new friends checking in. Jerry, obviously you are becoming a Dukes of Hazard fan!
Buckeye - LOL! Good job!
Regards,
Roy
My Texican is home here in Miami for a week. She brought about a million thousand CDs worth of “Third Rock” reissues, and we have been wasting our time. She has her first real time full time job teaching gymnastics, and the CDs run less than twenty dollars each. Hasn’t learned husbandry yet, but I’m enjoying her largesse. I guess I missed most of the first season, we are just now getting into episodes I remember. Beats reality shows all hollow.
I’ve been reading a little history. Got started researching the railroads that opened up my little part of the world about the turn of the twentieth century, and it took off from there. All them folks leaving my part of the world for Cleveland and Detroit was because there wasn’t enough money to go around. And Hoover got elected president because he was the hero of the great Mississippi River flood recovery of 1927. He only got one term because he wasn’t nearly as good at presidenting as he was at flood recovering. We had four hurricanes down here last year and got tore up pretty bad, I wonder if JEB plans to take a page from Hoover’s book?
Anyway, the railroad in my home town is gone now, even though De Lorme still shows it on the map. The right of way runs right through the middle of downtown, and the city fathers have turned it into a promenade with two paths where the main lines were. The depot is a library, and somebody modelled the town. My source said in “O” scale, but she wouldn’t know “O” scale if it bit her, and it sounds more like HO. I can’t wait to get up there and see for myself. You yankee people might be interested to know that at the height of the emigration north, the landed gentry guarded the rail heads to keep the labor from leaving. Grillades and grits forever!!
hey all,
i will be leaving soon, and i will post some of what happened tonight, tomorrow, or after i get home. Setup will be very easy, as i have the entire wiring diagram memorized in my head. bringing my Hobo Tower, and my Hobo Hotel, two of the best accessories that Lionel has made.
Sounds good, Colin!
Take some pictures for us, we always love those ![]()
The Chief’s rain dance worked! First ‘shower’ since July 4 today. Took my oldest over to register as a freshman at the high school… a milestone. The Browns are like the Bears - they have stunk but still get a lot of folks to come out and watch. Now I have an excuse to go watch the local H.S. football games.
Been pondering on going to a trian show out toward Atlanta this Sat. after I get off work. With the price of gas, at least a 100 mi. round trip, I don’t need, or want anything, Don’t know, should I save the price of admission and fuel cost and just take a run over to Memory Station, 6 mi. away, and see if anyything new came in.
Thanks OPEC for making what was at one time a no brainer a question to ponder.
Good Evening Everyone! Glad tomorrow is Friday ! [:)] Now I’m trying to convince another friend why he should go into O-gauge instead of HO. Boy, seems like a lot of people thinking of getting into trains lately, & in August ?! Maybe because people are trying to stay home more & not pay OPEC. Yes, thanks OPEC for boosting the toy train sales ! Thanks, John
Pond dam spillway is now incased in HAND MIXED concrete. I looked like I feel in the pond. Clothes soaked. Water was dripping from the bream of my JD cap. I came home and cooled off to mow the grass because I had taskforce meeting tomorrow. Got email later saying taskforce meeting tomorrow PM was canceled. Will get ready to go to mtns for wedding. Everyone complaining about the price of gasoline. Girl and parents are Raleigh residents but went to expensive mountain resort for wedding. Now everyone has to drive to the mtns. Wife is saying we will not go but then I will hear it for days. We are not doing the train museum thing and staying extra days. Would cost us another $75 in gasoline. Can’t ride the train up there. Trains do not now go anywhere. [:(!] Just to some main cities. Then it takes them twice as long as by vehicle. Later
hey,
just got back, and boy it was a good place to be. I enjoyed all of it, even though there was no O gaugers there. I was all over the place, and it was a lot of fun. I won the triple dome tank car for my outdoor layout, and it is painted for a large scale information group. I got a lot of questions from people, and one kid had lionel track from 1940. I told him to either sand it down, or get rid of all of it and buy new trackage. We had a HUGE variety of trains running, and the frogs in the pond enjoyed themselves too. All in all it was a good time, and if some o gauge guys are from the Philadelphia area, and are in a group, i will talk to the woman who ran it tonight, and i will see if i can get some space for a layout next year.all the people loved my Command Lehigh Valley C420, and the kids loved the sound. talk to you all later.
Good Morning All.
Getting ready soon for a fun full day of setting up for the Greenberg Train Show in Edison, New Jersey. Should be a blast this weekend and hope to buy a few new trains. The show is Saturday and Sunday from 10am to 4pm. for the general public, but I get to play with my trains at 7:30 Saturday morning. Unfortunatly the show will end sunday at 4pm and will have break down our layout and take it home and have to wait until Thanksgiving weekend,to do it all over again and have so more fun.
Another Friday has come, the grass needs cutting but its wet from last night’s rain and the morning weather is forcasting more of the same. Guess I’ll just have to take the garbage to the dumping station this morning and loop over to Memory Station and spend some time checking out his most recent shipment.
It’s a shame but I just might have to spend time running the trains instead of doing yard work. AWWWW [swg]
