"The Railroad, What it is, What it does" 5th Ed

A new edition of the classic RR text is now available from SImmons-Boardman (www.transalert.com), publisher of Railway Age. Although I realize it is not a Kalmbach publication it is an excellent text that answers a LOT of the basic questions that come up on this forum over and over again and will add a great deal to your understanding of RRs whether you are a railroader or a mere fan…lol…

Thanks for the info. I just click to if Amazon.com has it but [%-)] no yet. It’s munch cheaper.

I have the first edition. I agree that if you are interested in railroads you should get it. I think it’s about time that I buy a new one to cover the changes in the last 30 years.

Enjoy

Read the fine print. Those are not the current edition which I am talking about above (5th Edition). It has not yet been published and since Simmons Boardman is the publisher I’m sure they will have first crack at selling it, not Amazon.com.
