This is a nice article, I sure enjoy going in there. I also enjoy Hobbyland just up the road at Graceland. Where else in Columbus is worth visiting?
Kevin,Although I live 60 miles away I go there six times a year…The first visit was in ’ 77 or 78.
I believe I’ve been to that shop back in the 90’s when I lived in Dayton. Seems I have been in just about every train hobby store in southwest Ohio at one time or another.
My earliest visit was in the early 80’s when they were only in the side that the HO part of the store is currently located. Looking in past issues of Model Railroader, they apparently had another store downtown at one time as well.

Congratulations to The Train Station. I am proud to call this my “home” LHS. I support them and only buy from them. They earn my business every time I am in there. This is a great store and a great story.
When I lived in Columbus( 85-87) I went there every Saturday and it was always crowded.
The first thing I would check was the used shelf and then the car kits…Spent a lot of dineos there.
Excellent story. We so need a place like that, here! (well, everywhere for that matter). Best Wishes to the owners. Gotta love the tradition in that article.
