TheTrainshow on RFD-TV Canceled.

Email from Rich.

Our show has been cancelled by the President of RFD-TV, Patrick
Gotsch. Numerous phone calls requesting an explaination at to why,
have been ignored and we can’t explain to our viewers or sponsors why
this has happened.

We would like to thank all of you that have watched us on RFD-TV
and hope that you will continue to do so by subscribing to our tv show
online.

We produced over 75 tv shows [before the 40 shows on RFD-TV]
and will continue to do so.

Thank You ‘All Aboard’ -richie

If you haven’t seen the Train show… were have you been you can see it here www.thetrainshow.com

I liked that one, but had trouble finding it on the schedule.

I wasn’t particularly impressed by this show, plus the fact RFD-TV changed the time back a while ago to about 2:30 in the afternoon I couldn’t watch it anyway.

I do hope this is not the same show "Work’in on the Railroad " that comes on Saturday night around 11:30 central time…it’s the pyi or something like that channel

Nope, Chuck, Workin’ on the Railroad is an entirely different program on a different channel.

I’m sorry to see The Train Show go-- we were very happy with the piece that Rich E. put together on our Operations Road Show layout and operating sessions at last year’s NMRA National Convention in Cincinnati. He stumbled across our layout by accident and turned it into an episode of his show.

Gee, I hope they can re-market this program to another channel. We don’t get RFD here, so we’ve never had the opportunity to see this show. Given the rubbi***hat fills 90% of the bandwidth, you would think someone would be willing to try something different. Maybe if we changed terms like “weathering your locomotive” to “pimping your engine” we might attract their attention.

Hey, how about throwing that show on Comcast cable?[;)][:-^]

I’m sad to see the train show cancelled. As somebody who actually watched it I can tell you it was great. I had my DVR set to record it everytime it was on. Maybe they will pick it back up. Fred

im sad to see it go,
i enjoyed the operations thing you were talking about aswell
the only thing i didnt like was that rich’s voice would be really monotone alot lol
but it was about the trains, and i liked it
especially when they went to train shows and stuff

I was wondering why I couldn’t find it anymore. I’m sorry (and surprised) that RFD-TV cancelled it. I enjoyed the show’s wide range of railroad subjects–everything from N scale layouts to live steam and prototype museums. And I liked Rich Einhorn’s friendly manner.
Maybe DIY network might pick it up to run as a companion program to WORKIN’ ON THE RAILROAD (which is turning out to be quite a good show).
Hopefully, RFD-TV won’t abandon their train schedules completely–TRAINS AND LOCOMOTIVES usually has an hour of very good 1:1 railroad programming, and lots of ideas for modelers.
But I’ll miss Rich E. He seems like a really nice fellow.
Tom

Very unfortunate. This was an interesting show covering a wide diversity of subjects and layouts visits.

How does one find this show? Is it on the net, TV or satellite?

i liked a few shows of it. not all though

There was another railroad show on RFD hosted by Dave Reed Rail something
it was very good lots of clear filmography. Is it anywhere else or gone?

You can only find it on the web now @ www.thetrainshow.com

Personally I think the web site is messy but after you get used…it’s fine. Most of the episodes were moved to the members area but still some good free content.

I’m a new member there!

I’m not sure. I don’t have a dish so I never saw it on TV.

Is there anything on cable concerning model trains?

I know DIY did a show for a short time.

DIY still has the show… it’s on Saturdays at 8:30 and 11:30 PM EST. I’ve only caught one ep so far, but it looks like they have at least the rest of the season before they’re going to stop making the episodes (if they do).

RFD-TV conducts a viewer poll on-line and by mail, so they probably got a lot of responses from viewers who wanted to see something else. The MC of The Train Show has the personality of a dead fish, and that probably didn’t help the ratings.

I TIVO’d this show (season pass) which allowed me to always get it (as they kept changing the time). I wasn’t overly impressed with every episode, as most were rather east coast heavy. But there were several good episodes, and it’s a shame RFD dropped it. Only show I watched on RFD, so they just lost a viewer.

“Tracks Ahead”, and “Working on the Railroad” are still out there though and they are good shows. I was considering contacting the train show about featuring some of my layouts. Guess this will never happen [:(]
