This is for Kev from Canada

Kev - need some more education.

Can you give me some information about which railroad you work for? You don’t have to be specific if you don’t want, but is it CP or CN or a smaller one?

Trying to get a handle on how or if Canada is so different from USA. Are you more like the eastern seaboard here in the USA? Are you electric at all?

Jen

you are young enough you may see that happen, Kev!

Maybe they have a whole boxcar full of shirts with that logo on them and they just hand them out until they are gone?

Jen

I bet there is a box car full somewhere! i gotta find it in that case cuz i want another.

i bet the hid them in coal cars so i wouldn’t suspect they were shirts.

i have a few CP shirts… but i’m not St L & H division… now why they send my stuff the shouldn’t apply to me i’ll never know.

kev

hey Jen… CP… and yes it’s along the eastern seaboard… you may have better luck looking up STL&H (st laurence and hudson) thats the actual divison of CP that I am in. i know the Soo line is more in the states.

oh here… i found a map… might be a long load time for you…

cut and paste this:

http://www.trainweb.org/galt-stn/icons/stlhmap.jpg

where the Blue line meets the red line you’ll see the Delson line (or Delson the city), and if you keep going up the line… you’ll see Montreal.

and Electric… we don’t have any Electric lines in and around the Montreal area… i stand corrected… there is obe… but that might just be a local Montreal RR.

hope this helps,
Kev.

Thanx Kev - at least I have an idea of what you guys talk about. I am not sure about the cut and paste - this is a work puter and they may frown on it, but will check with my boss!

Jen

OK Kev - I went to the map - with my bosses help and Wow - you are up there a ways. But that is interesting - CP - I must remember that when I read my Trains Magazine. Now that he is here, he wants to overhaul my e-mail, so gotta go.

Jen

Yep CP… ecen thought is sais StL & H its a smaller eastern division of CP… why… who knows… no one calls it that… i jsut have a shirt that says StL & H on it. Yep were CP… Canadian Pacific… we may have ties with UP… i dunno

cheers,
kev

Hi Kevin: (I pressume)
I am also from Canada and a train enthusiast. I read that you work for CP. Would you be able to give me schedules of when the train runs in eastern ontario - around the Niagara region? What is the best place to go trainspotting. I would love to take a few photos. Also a CP shirt, if your feeling generous, throw one my way.

Good evening!

ataully i just tried ot look up around the internet… because i’m not from around the niagra falls region, i know exactly where it is… but i’m in the Montreal Region.

I am currently getting word that there is no transportation system there, just VIA rail trains. there talking about Extending the GO trains to that area, actaully

a map of the GO transit system:

check amtraks maple leaf train @:

goto Via rail inc:

About a CP rail shirt, i’ll check around… unforunately i’m not a supplier in shirts… i’d love to meet the guy who is too. if nayone finds the CP rail shirt supplier tell me second… i work for the Montreal Commuter transit system… but i will defenately look into a shirt… i should have my response to you by wednesday

have a good day sir
Kev.

hey kevrrman

I don’t know about the freight scheduals either, however I can tell you where we usually see the trainspotters at VIA, just west of Aldershot, after the bridge, near Dundas, before the ravine.

Another great place where we see an awful lot of spotters is Brantford station, it’s a beautiful station…I’ll be going through there tomorrow morning.

If you can find a safe place on the west side of Paris, maybe from the church, wow, you would probably have some spectacular photos.

South of Aldershot, towards Niagra, I hear Grimsby is good, but I can’t say for sure as I tend to try and avoid working on the Niagra line as it usually means working on the Amtrash.

Good luck!
