I live way up north! Probably farther north than anyone else[8D]
But its cold.
I wonder if we have people on these forums from all 50 states…
Anyone from Hawaii?

Hi Jon, a belated welcome to you [:)]

Ed lol [:D] North of you and Bryan yes but still SOUTH of the M D line. [:D]

Ed speaking of Bryan, maybe one of these days you could arrange a little ride in the switcher for him. I am very sure he would love it. Anyway, just a thought.

And Kevin that’s K E V I N (according to him lol) needs to arrange a ride for ME. [:D]

…Yes, we’re north of Ed and that means we only have to put up with bugs for a season…Not year around. There is no Utopia…At least I’ve not found it.

I can’t pass up on this one, much too wierd… Dan McGrath, Dead Center in the State of New Jersey… I would have mentioned “Princeton”, but, I really can’t afford to…

Thats ok Slick, I have a nephew who moved to Boston, he still hasnt figured out snow and it uses!

John from England, welcome from Texas, the state with more cattle than people, and more railroad track than any of the other 49.

Bryan, if your ever down this way, the PTRA North Yard is on Clinton Drive at Wayside road, look me up, I will be the guy switching in front of the control tower.
E mail me before you come down.
Stay Frosty,
Ed

Hey Jim - we had two of your engines here in the midwest - I waved at one of them for you and for me, too!

A belated welcome to everyone who added their name… the lsit indeed keeps GROWING! and thats GOOD!

Hi everyone!

Kevin … about the electric train … the steam follows the path of least resistance and goes back to ground. You know of course the smoke theory of electronics … when you let the smoke OUT of the box the box no longer works. Funny thing, this theory is an exact science and holds true every time.

Wow. So many more people have introduced themselves since I last checked this thread. Big welcome to all!

I’m in southeast Wisconsin—kinda convenient, working in Waukesha and all—and actually wishing it would get a little bit colder, but only on Packer game days. (I keep hoping that Brett and the guys will start playing better again when the Frozen Tundra returns to Green Bay.)

And to those in Texax… well, enjoy the warm weather. If all goes well, I hope to be visiting Fort Worth in mid- to late-April.

Take care, all!
Kathi

Hi Kathi,
Great, heres an advance welcome to Texas,
hope you enjoy Fort Worth.
As soon as I can think of something good to say about Fort Worth, other than its near Dallas, and the land is really, really flat, I will let you know.
Did I mention its really flat?
Hummmm…they have a lot of trains and rail yards there.
And its really flat .
Ed

Kathi-
Something (h***) has to freeze over befor the Packers will start playing better.

BTW-I’m more SE Wisconsin than you are (Kenosha county).

Kevin: I was not aware that an electric train produced any steam. Is that like if a plane crashes on the border of France and Germany, where do they bury the survivors?

It doesn’t matter, both France and Germany are engaged negotiations for a possible merger with UP. UP ober alles!

Ed,

Thanks for the welcome, even if I will be in Fort Worth. I do expect to spend time in Dallas, too, if that helps. Either way, I’ve never been to Texas, so I’m looking forward to that very much. And I would like to visit Houston once Metro gets up and running. I’ve been following its progress (and periodic lack thereof) for a few years now—including the groundbreaking cancellation, then delay. I’ve also talked with and met Shirley DeLibero; she’s a fantastic person. Very knowledgeable and dynamic. If anyone can get this done, she can.

Jim,

I know the Packers are playing super-poopy so far this year. But I was born in 1967—the last time they were truly awesome until the late 1990s—so I have to hope I’ll see that kind of team again in my lifetime. Kenosha County, huh? I was wondering where Somers was. You should come up for a visit sometime.

Later!
Kathi

Kathi, Greetings [:)]

If you take Amtrak (and why wouldn’t a “Trains” employee not do so) you can stop here in the Little Rock area and visit me. [:D] Welcome to Arkansas–North of Ed and South of the M D line (not a railroad line haha).
