Tinting Scupltamold

Yet another one for my Forum friends. Has anyone ever tried to tint Scupltamold? I am thinking of using it to represent some asphalt ramps on some industrial tracks. I will build a screed to get the right slope. Given how close it is to the track, I’d rather have it already colored if possible. The color in question is a craft paint.
As usual, any assistance that can be provided would be most welcomed.

You are going to get different answers on this, but your best bet is to try it yourself by experimenting with it.

I can say for sure that paint can be added to Hydrocal, but I have no experience with Sculptamold.

I am using some sculptamold today. I’m going to try it. I have some cheap Walmart craft paint I’ll try.

Any cheap latex paint will work. Find the color you want and buy the next darker formula as the paint lightens when you mix it with the Scupltamold with out water.

Use the paint as the water unless its too dark then add a small amount of water don’t get carried away just keep adding the paint a little at a time until your mix holds together and look just like colored cottage cheese.
The paint will slow down the drying time and give you a extra 15 - 20 minutes of work time.

I used Rit with plaster, and I’d think it could be used with Sculptamold…

I have a specific color of craft paint in mind and this won’t be done until spring or it continually gets back above freezing. For the moment I’m just collecting ideas.
