Daily streamlined CHAMPIONS inaugurated December 1, 1939 between New York and Miami.

1955-50 years ago the ATSF opened a 49.3 mile passenger line from Zacha Jct, north of Dallas, to Dalton Jct., on the mainline north of Fort Worth. This allowed daily Santa Fe Chief streamlined passenger service all the way between Chicago and Dallas without changing trains.
About 10 years ago the line was sold to KCS, allowing them into Alliance yard and helping to make them an east-west railroad as well as a north-south railroad.
