Toilet hatch for post 1981 88" low nose?

I’m back, with another question:

On the Cannon and Co.'s website, for short hoods, there’s a part called a Toilet hatch, intended for locomotives with 88" low noses after 1981. Was there really a toilet under those hatches? If not, what was under there? If so, how was the toilet suppose to be used, and how was it acessed?

Yes there really is a toilet under there. The hatch is only for maintenance. There is a full(ish) height door in the cab for normal access.

EMD GP’s & SD’s have a toilet in the low hood. The originals were just a toilet that flushed to the track(like old passenger cars). After 1981, ‘retention’ type toilet was installed. The ‘hatch’ was so the entire toilet unit could be removed. Older ‘F’ & ‘E’ units had the toilet mounted back by the air compressor.
