I saw on the news yesterday that the tornado in the Riverside, CA area knocked over some freight cars. They only showed them for a couple of seconds, I saw a few boxcars on their sides. The newscaster said that 9 cars were derailed.

A tornado toppling rail cars may be old hat for Midwesterners, but in California, it was super big news!
When Santa Fe Railway owned the line, they could have such toppled cars cleared fast. But, the Metrolink people own it now, and I believe they are responsible for the cleanup, and that is not their cup of tea. Anybody know how the cleanup is progressing?
Yup, just like a few weeks ago (4/18): there was a small (5.2) earthquake in West Salem, Illinois; most everyone around here was talking about it, and it was all over the news.
When Califonia gets a 5.2, it hardly wakes them up.
Case in point: The day before the boxcars blowing over, we had ethanol tank cars flying at Windsor, CO (it’s just another Hollywierd special effects stunt?)
I assume Bridgewater or Jimco came out to pick up the toppled cars.
