Thanks, Rich !
Did you see the videos on my You Tube Channel ? 9 video clips on there.
Paul
I did! Its just as awesome in motion as I hoped it would be! Thanks for sharing!
Thank You ! I still like the clarity and sharpness of still photos, but it’s good to hear the sounds and see the motion in video. And you can see how fast I run them…
Paul
I have not, but I will do so.
Rich
Simply amazing so much action ,kudos to you for not only coming up with the idea but making it work out great job Paul And thanks for the video.
Chuck
OK, I watched all 9 videos, about 12 minutes worth. Totally insane, and I loved every second of it.
So many questions:
- How many trains are running at one time? Impossible to count them.
- Do you ever have any derailments?
- How do you get inside the layout for maintenance? Or do you?
- What do you use to make those clouds?
- Same question as #4 for the smoke coming out of the smokestacks.
- One train per track at all times?
Everyone should watch these videos. A total treat.
Rich
Thanks Chuck!
when we moved into this house 6 years ago, I just felt like I wanted to build a different type of layout this time, since I’ve built a few straight up layouts before. A test bed for ideas, some work, others not so much… But I get a lot of nutty ideas…
Paul
Thanks Rich !
I can get up to 12 trains running simultaneously. 15 independent loops of track, one train per track. I have very few derailments, surprisingly. I just turn them on, and let them run. The new loop requires a constant hand on the throttle, to accelerate going uphill, throttle down on the down grade. There is an “access pit” towards the rear of the layout, which I must crawl under the layout to get to. I can still reach everything. The smoke/clouds effect is artificial spider web material that was being sold in bags at Halloween season.
Paul
That is simply amazing, 12 trains, 15 independent loops. I tried to count them while watching the longer videos. When I stopped counting at 6 or 7, I decided that it would be best to ask you how many in total. That is one cool layout, and the videos are awesome. Thanks for sharing.
Rich
You’re welcome! I discovered that I just like running trains, above all else. So, this layout reflects this as my priority.
Paul
Also, I’ve added a “ Bonus Reel” in the You Tube channel of the Garden Railroad, since it’s nice outside today……
Paul
Well, of course, I have to watch the video.
Rich
