This morning I saw an ad in the paper for a train swap meet for the Ohio River TCA for tomorrow and since it will be raining here thought I might go check it out. Has anyone ever heard of these swap meets? Do the sell things or is it only for swap? Any information would be greatly appreciated.
The National Train Collectors Association (TCA) is a 57 year old organization made up of 30,000 toy train Operators and Collectors. TCA is a non-profit corporation that owns and operates “The National Toy Train Museum” located in Strasburg PA. To promote local intrest in the hobby, the Association is devided into Divisions and Chapters that run local train shows around the country, most are open to the public. The shows are like a big “Flea Markets” (Tag Sale), buy and sell with tables full of trains.
Twice a year (April and October) the Eastern Division runs a “members only” show at the York PA Fair Grounds, all 8 halls are filled with Trains, attendence is about 14,000.
Thanks for the information. Just thought I would let you know that we did go and it was pretty good and you were right, very good prices. (I thought, now if I only had lots of money) but I was able to get the parts I need for my 6220 switcher so life is good.
