Train Trivia 4/17/06 (ANSWERED)

In what year was the Alaska Central Railway, forerunner to the modern Alaska Railroad, started?

Sorry about the delay folks. Had to take the initiative on the War of the Weeds this weekend.

You don’t have the correct date as an option.

The correct date is 1903. The Alaska Central Railway went bankrupt in 1908. It was reorganized and the Alaska Northern Railway in 1910.

Hmm. He must have changed the first date.

Andre

I thought it went bankrupt in '07…'03 is the correct answer.

The History channel and National Geographic Channel did a piece on the building to the AK RR, 1903 is correct for start date. The Fed Gov had to take over later on.

Sorry about that ,made it a give away.
