My fellow train people where can one go in northeast ohio to see trains either in motion or stationary with out the fear of getting harrasment from local law enforcment or tresspassing on rail road property? I am new to the hobby so I want to see trains in action for prototypical reasons for my layout and to determine consists but I have no place that I know of to go and see this first hand. I know that the W&LE has a yard in Akron but I cant get close to it to do any good. Any ideas or suggestions would be great and I would welcome anyone input weather from Ohio or not.[:)][:)][:D][:D][8D]

try this site http://www.frograil.com/railroad/oh.htm it has some guides to places around Ohio. Some good places around us would be any of the overpasses in downtown Akron,The best ones tend to be around The University Of Akron. The parking for luigis is another good spot, Right beside the W&LE but trains are hard to catch on that line.
Waterworks ,if the Brush isn’t bad, can be neat. I think there’s a park near Kent that is right by the tracks but haven’t check it out yet. I tend to find parking spots near the tracks and stay there for a little bit waiting for a trainto come by. Haven’t been hassled yet,but then my fav spot wassold so I haven’t gone back.
FYI The new SD70ACe’s have been making appearances on the csx lines ( I have yet to catch one yet).At the Akron yard off of howe ave. There is a chessie and conrail caboose,out of site of course, and a newly painted gp40-2 in the dark future scheme #2801.

Take I-77 up here to Cleveland and take the East Shoreway (I-90) up to the E. 152nd exit. Follow the exit till it dead ends into E. 154th and turn right. The Collinwood yard (CSX owned) is a block north.
Find a place to park your car somewhere and just walk to the top of the overpass. I’m not sure if you are wanting or able to get closer but there is plenty to see from that vantage point. If you face west, you can still see the old coaling tower. I’d go during the day.
Seems theres a fairly busy yard near and just south of the SR 82 (Macedonia) exit, off I-271.
I don’t know if that’s what you’re looking for or not. Let me know if that works out for you.

George I sent you an email Thank for your replay I was doing some train spotting today @ mp 121.9 only saw 1 train in 40 mins kinda slow for that line I thought.
