Trainfest, and who wasn't there

Got back from Trainfest today, was surprised to see that Firecrown did not have a booth set up at the show. Wonder what happened…

I saw Cody Grivno walking around the show. No badge or anything other than the folks who know him…
Actually, none of the magazine companies were there…

I’ve always wondered how they decided on Milwaukee, WI for this event?

Headquarters of Walthers and used to be the headquarters of Kalambach Publishing. Long history with the NMRA conventions there.

From what I’ve heard, the show was run by an NMRA Division in the area. I think it is/was called the WISE Division.

OK, thanks for the info I was just curious. I was born in Milwaukee and was curious how it got hooked into this. They used to have a lot of hobby shops in the Milwaukee area, the one I am most recently familiar with is Hiawatha Hobbies in Waukesha (still in business), very heavily stocked with HO Scale trains. They do remote business as well as in person.

Back from Trainfest. Was there for both days as a manufacturer selling product. We had a good show, better than last year. Spoke to some dealers and they said the show was very good for them. Others not some much. Depends on what they’re selling. I did buy some Accurail box cars as I figured I needed some Midwest cars on the layout…

I did speak to other manufacturers and they thought the show was good for them. Crowds were pretty good Saturday. Sunday it slowed down before noon as the Packers were playing at home..
