I was at a train and hobby shop in Virginia a couple weeks ago, and in his layout the guy had a truck that I wanted to buy for my dad. The (grumpy) shopkeeper said, “I forgot I had that in there, it must have been a dealer item.” and that he didn’t have it and that was pretty much all the info I could get from him. He wouldn’t even show it to me (I just wanted to see if there was any identifying info on the bottom).
I can’t remember the phrase but I’m pretty sure it was a trainmaster slogan of some sort (putting the power in your hands? or something along those lines?)
It was just cute and cool and now I can’t find it anywhere. Does anyone have ANY information on this at all (manufacturer/when or how it was available/where I might find one)?

Been a dealer for awhile now (just starting to get grumpy…) but I don’t recognize “trainmaster” as part of any tractor-trailer product line in HO.
That reminds me, what scale was this?

I dont know of any Trainmaster trailers either.
Sometimes a hobby shop person is quite protective of a forgotten widget that is probably not for sale… yer going to have to work at it. =)
I think it was O gauge… perhaps about a foot long, tractor plus trailer.
I’m sure it is long out of production and perhaps never available to the general public. I know he wasn’t about to tell me any more about it. Is Trainmaster copyrighted to Lionel or is it a seperate entity?
I just wish I could find out enough to create a watch on ebay or something. I don’t really know of anywhere else I will ever find this (don’t live at home anymore so I’ve sadly lost my free trips to York

Sorry Jenny but I’m not too familiar with O scale tractor-trailers, to be honest I’ve not heard “trainmaster” in relation to any O scale tractor trailers, but I’m not a big O scale dealer.
I did call another shop who does more in O than I do and he was not familiar with that name either…like you (or he) said, it could be a dealers-only thing…sometimes model railroad companies send out dealer only products for advertising, although that’s kind of rare.
Well on behalf of non-grumpy hobby dealers, let me say I’m sorry he was not more forthcoming with information in order to help you out a little. Wish I could help out more, maybe someone else knows…or maybe posting this on the Classic Toy Trains part of the trains.com forums might get you an answer faster.
For O scale info move to the Classic Toy Trains forum where the large scale guys hang out. There are a lot of non-railroad companies that make stuff in O scale because it is easier to work with.
