Trains News Wire EXCLUSIVE: No. 4501 debuts at Tennessee Valley Railroad Museum Railfest
My love affair with this locomotive goes back 50 years. I can’t wait to see her back on the main line.
I’ve ridden behind her before and I can’t wait to do it again!!
While 4501 was green she was beautiful, having said that in black she is even more so. Thanks TVRM for all the long hours in getting this fine locomotive back in steam.
I was privileged to be Conductor for her last day of service before “retirement.” Nobody on the crew that day thought for a minute that she would never be back in service–it was just a question of when. I was present at Railfest this past weekend, and I am delighted that “The Little Lady”, as I always thought of her, is back at work!
I know some will disagree, but I feel she looks better in freight black. She is a freight engine. Some feel green is in some way “traditional” but I like #4501 much better in freight black. When clean black is classy. Great job TVRM and hope #4501 runs for many years yet to come.
I had the honor of photographing (up close and personal) 4501 under rebuilding in 2013. And watch her roll out on the morning of September 6, 2014. . . . truly a thing beauty. My highest regard to the crew that rebuilt her to her shining glory.
