The Louisville Courier-Journal reports that the engines are in the yard facing each other until the game. After the game, the winning University’s locomotive will be the lead unit and the losing University’s locomotive will be the trailing unit for the next year.

Hopefully the graffitti jerks will leave these alone. W&P/P&W painted one chip car each for University of Oregon and Oregon State about 20 years ago. They were beautiful, until vandals ruined both of them with spray paint.
They should do one for Western Kentucky.I know the Hilltoppers are not well known for basketball,But their football program is OK
Exactly a similar honor to the Wichita State ‘Shockers’ (35-0 record) done by WATCO’s, K&O RR ,out here when they repainted a GP40-2.
Since WAMX engines are normally Black and Yellow, all they did was add decorative decals and they were good to go.
If you can’t have "heritage’ units this is very good public relations for the Railroads.
