Great to see the 190. But “the only Alco?” Did you check to see how CN 6789 feels about that? Or are splitting Alco/MLW hairs here? : - )

Am I the only one who sees 6789 just behind 190 in the last photo? Really wish I could be there…

the only Alco PA in one piece in the U.S

Whoa that’s a lot horns

Wish I could be there.

So this means there is going to be a DD40a going around the horse shoe curve right?

Looks like one bitchin event; wish I was there!

So, technically #6789 is MLW FPA4, but if it looks like an ALCo, and it burbles like an ALCo, and I assume it smokes like an ALCo, then…
Yes, #190 is the only PA intact. Just terrific!

Was loud!! Got great pics and even some pic in a helicopter

Only one Alco? Looks like at least two in the photo!!!

Amazing event to take part in. The weather has been perfect too. Big thanks to NS and Trains mag for putting this together as well as NC transportation museum. Only down side- Norfolk Southern’s official band “The Lawmen”. Really bad, sorry guys.

Thanks for streaming the Streamliners and the 611 for us

History was made this last week in N.C. Loved it all…Lots of hospitality and lots of pictures! Dinner Thursday night at the station was fantastic. The crews and support folks for the Locomotives present was really great. Learned a lot talking with them. Thanks for helping make Dreams come true!
A Train Retro Fashion show with a Turntable for a runway!!
The N.C. passenger consist was amazing, as well as the Amtrak Veterans units. The Old Amtrak cab unit was very nice to see too, was a big surprise. Will be talking about this for a Very Long time… Thanks Trains and all who put this together!
PS… FIRE UP 611 !!

NCTM knocked it out of the park again, What wonderful hosts the fine people are. The event was as good as advertised. Thank you all, NS, the museums that sent the streamliners, and all the great people of North Caroilna. My favorites were the New Haven, B&O and the Burlington’s Stainless Steel Beauty. I can’t wait to see what you guys do next.

The caption says the PA was the only Alco at the event, but clearly visible is a Canadian National Alco FA. I love this site and read it every weekday; but someone needs to do a better job of proofreading to correct the numerous errors, mostly bad grammar, that detract from the quality of the site. One gets the impression that excellence is not a high priority here.

I hope someone puts out a good video (and a large article in TRAINS magazine) of this event for we unfortunates who were not able to get there.

If the Canadian National FA was constructed in Canada, technically the PA being the only Alco may be correct. Weren’t the Canadian locomotives built to Alco designs constructed by MLW? I am not up to date on production start and finish of MLW locomotives, but I know people have always delineated between the two.

Mel & Mo Miller, if you wish to express an opinion, would you please use an adjective that is not offensive? Thank you.

Dear Dan S. Wheeler from VA. I hate to say this, but you didn’t do what you are complaining about. To wit: “mostly bad grammar, that detract from the quality of the site”. The word should be DETRACTS. Normally, I wouldn’t bother with this because this is not the place for this. However, when someone brings this up, and does this himself should be taken to task for doing the same thing. Now, lets get back to our regularly scheduled blogs P.S. I talk a well english.
