TRAINS SPOTTING DOWNUNDER

Now that summer is almost here in AUSTRALIA , trainspotting takes on a whole new meaning with super freighters departing ACACIA RIDGE (BRISBANE FREIGHT TERMINAL ) earlier due to daylight saving in the southern states not in QUEENSLAND. All trains including the XPT ( EXPRESS PASSENGER TRAIN ) departing BRISBANE for SYDNEY an hour earlier . The XPT takes just over 14 hours to travel from ROMA STREET STATION to SYDNEY CENTRAL

SA,

Just curious: Are EMD “AA” units still running in Australia or have they been retired? These look like the American “E” units except that they have cabs on both ends.

Thanks!
