Snagged a copy of this yesterday at best buy for $10 and ended up staying up all night figuring the game out. I love it!
Anyway Im wondering is there like more engines & car’s you can download somewheres?

Well ya spent a good 10 bucks…Just register up for here
http://www.auran.com/TRS2004/DLS.php
And you can down load TONS and TONS of stuff…You will be up all night once again once ya see what there all is to get…If ya need any help with n e thing or n e of that stuff…Let me know…
I saw that for the same price at another Best Buy and almost snagged it. I may go back and grab it. I only have the demo version which its limited, but still fun. Now that I know you can add some downloads… I will have to get it.
Mine used to work, but it says there’s a error as soon as the launch menu comes up![#dots]
I havent been able to get any of the add on passenger cars from there site to work, I did download the W&ARR 4-4-0 “General” and that works and also found a bunch of D&RGW engines (2-8-0’s & 2-8-2’s) & freight rolling stock on another site but its all narrow gauge so i spent like 3 days laying 3’ track all around on that one USA map that’s a big loop…
Then on day 3 I accdently put a narrow gauge train on the std gauge tracks and low and behold it runs on the track! The game must think “Track is track” lol so i started over and just run the stuff on the std gauge track [:-^]
So yeah im running MR & SF passenger trains and D&RGW steam freight mostly double/tripple headers with and without helpers hehehe I love it! Just wish I could find some older passenger cars now!
Its alot of fun I can end up wasting alot of hours messing with stuff and running trains
Took me a few more days to figure out the content manager thingamajiger but I got a whole bunch of C16’s, K27’s & K36’s now along with NG passenger car’s and lots of freight [:D]
I cant remember the name of the map im using now but its a mix of 2’ and 3’ NG
Cool…You should get some pix and post them on here…If you ever need anything or can’t find something…Let me know or anyone else on here and we will help ya the best we can…
Thanks [:)]
I will take some screen shots when I figure out how lol.
Im using the 2’ & 3’ narrow gauge map that came with the game. I have replaced all of the fake depots along the 3’ line with passenger stations (Central Station w/western passengers by Elvenor) and also found a working Chama coal tower to keep my engines running! (just gotta keep it full)
Right now im running all 3’ stuff and im slowly removing the 2’ track as I go, Using C16’s, K27’s and K36’s from San Juan Trainz Workz ( also downloaded all of the rolling stock they have [:D] ) I have 5 trains that are active and 1 on standby with 3 C16’s and a extra K27 sitting in roundhouse/shed
K-27 #455 5 car passenger train (car’s by Elvenor) - I have this train hitup all of the passenger stations, all the other trains have to work around this one… Atleast there saposed to [banghead]
K-36 #487 mixed work train/passenger - Engine + Flanger car + 3 box cars (2 are MOW section/bunk cars), flat car and caboose with combine & passenger car on the end, this train is based on one i saw on a dvd about the Durango & Silverton [:D] I like to drive this one around the most. when not pulling this train #487 helps #483 with wood service
K-36 #483 wood train - engine + 8 log car’s & bobber caboose (more log car’s stored on sidings at various camps)driver of this train is the BEST at listening to orders, I almost dont even have to check up on this guy
4&5) K-27 Coal train’s (cant remember the numbers off the top of my head) - Engine + 3-5 coal gondola’s & caboose (more gondola’s stored on sidings at mines) - These two trains have an annoying factor of 10! all of the other trains allways end up having to sp

Thanks! I knew I was doing somthing wrong, during one of the loading screens it said somthing about taking screen shots but I only remember it saying to hit print screen [xx(]
BTW I solved the problem’s with the annoying coal trains, I took one of the drivers K27 away and stuck him in a Shay. His job is now loading the coal car’s and getting them ready to be picked up. When they are picked up the train is twice as long (6-10 cars) and I have the train go a diffrent route than before that is a bit longer but there isnt any other traffic.
I got a shay for loading log cars for the lumber run’s too but sofar I havent used it as the driver I have doing that run doesnt have any problems getting his K36 upto the logging camps and getting loaded where the coal runs I had to babysit the C16’s or K27’s so the drivers didnt drive them off the end of the tracks on the switchbacks [xx(]
Me? I have MSTS Trainz DE and RS
This is my 1st post, so do lol, remember I am new.
What sould I buy. MSTS ot Trainz or is there something else. And will they work in Vista.
get me started and i will be back for more Info.
Gee, That’s an awful big question. I guess it really dependes on why you have interest in rail simulators, as each has its own high-points…
If you want to create your own layouts, or content for railsim software, then something in the long list of Trainz (Auran) is probably the way to go.
If you want the most realistic and stunning train driving experience, then MSTS II (Microsoft) is probably your best bet. MSTS II actually requires Vista OS.
There are a handfull of others, but Trainz and MSTS are by far the leaders.
I am a route developer for Trainz, and I have a Trainz-related website. Click on my banner if you like, and you can check-out the world of Trainz; from routes, custom content, tutorials, videos to just about everything else you can imagine.

Also look at a lot of my posts…I post a lil of both MSTS and TRS…If there is something special you would like to see from either sim…Let me know and I’ll do what I can to show ya…
Vista BLOWS!!! I have, and so do most, XP.
Getting slightly back to topic on Trainz '06, how exactly do you start the SD70s? I’ve tried the isolation switch and the start/stop engine switch on the back of the cab, but nothing works.
Make sure there full of gas and sand…Then they will start as well

I mostly run steam but if im going out of my mind trying to get a loco to move it almost allways ends up being that I forgot to release the brakes [:I]
