Transition Ives-Flyer steamer.

Ok, im a prewar collector and dont see much of it on here. I figured id give us all something to talk about. When my grandfather was a boy he recieved a wondeful christams present in 1930. Penneys was closing, and my great-grandad managed to purchase a flyer ives 1134 steamer, and flyer presidents cars they had used as a window display. Well needless to say his brothers became jealous and hurled the majestic 1134 out the attic window. I still have the trains, although the cab, and portions of the running board are badly damaged. I was going to purchase an mth repro casting, but as the flyer motor requires alot of modification to fit into the shell, i opted it would be a waste of 200 bucks. I could do it but i dont have the rear motor mounts, or have anychance to examine another. Anyone know were i can get pics of an original or anyone who rebuilds the castings. Thanks, and lets get somemore prewar stuff on this forum.

Hello Prewar 262 ! Your 1134 is a museum piece. The castings were used by Ives, Flyer, and Dorfan. Hopefully, Joe will be able to bring it back to its former glory.Any one of these engines is a prize to own. You are one lucky fellow and I hope you post pictures of it someday…Keith
