Transition Track Alignment Problem coming out of curve help

I mentioned this in another thread with a different topic, but I want to address this problem directly. I replaced about two thirds of tubular track with MTH RealTrax and only left the part with a homemade Viaduct. I made the Viaduct because the plastic road bed is just to wide and I like the idea of being able to see through the track to the scenery below.

I bought the RealTrax because it was 42” Dia. and I bought a MTH Arch bridge. Now I find out it’s not 42” at all. I have to either get rid of the RealTrax or the Tubular track, because I’m giving up trying to make it work and if I keep the Realtrax then I need to build another bridge.

I wish I could find a better solution. A couple of years ago I bought about 5 pieces of GarGraves track to make a curved tussle bridge, but I destroyed almost all the track trying to bend it.

So, I don’t have time to do anything now, but I was wondering how bad can an alignment problem be before I have a derailment? Do you think I’ll lose a train on this track connection?

Never mind, I’m giving up. I just placed my order for the rest of the track in Realtrax and I’m just going modify the Viaduct to fit the new track. I should have just did this in the first place. [:(]

Every year I go through this thinking this is it no more changes and every year it’s the same thing. I told the wife this time I’m taking a lot of photos and she and the kid can put this thing together next year. [(-D]

From the photo it looks like you are trying to mix Lionel style 027 and O gauge(MTH) tubular track, and that is why it won’t work. The pins don’t fit properly?

Yes, I paid over $6 a piece for those RealTrax transition pieces to the tubular Track and they don’t even come with the pins. I have to buy everything on-line sight unseen, because there isn’t a decent Model Train Store for 70 miles.

But that’s not the whole problem. The problem is the angle the two tracks are connecting in. It’s a simple oval with one side at 41” O.C. and the other at 42” O.C…

Oh boy, I just discovered “ScaleTrax” and it’s exactly what I’ve been looking for two years. I don’t know how many times I’ve posted looking for recommendations, but I guess I just wasn’t using the correct words when asking.

I stumbled onto this just by accident. I only whish I would have seen this yesterday before I ordered the RealTrax curves. Oh well, you win some and you lose some. I was going to say maybe next year, but NO I think I’m done with this. [8D]
